Abstract

This paper describes the exam of a horse with neurological gait abnormalities, presenting the tests to be performed and how to localize lesions in the spinal cord. Motor abnormalities result from brain or spinal damage, and the lesion can affect motor and proprioceptive centers or tracts, leading to an abnormal gait expressed by paresia, ataxia, hypermetria and spasticity signs.
